About Ms. Buhler
Hello everyone! My name is Ms. Buhler and I am a high school English teacher here at Atlanta High School. I am thrilled to work in the school where I grew up and I am so grateful to have, what I believe as, the best job in the world. Scroll down to learn a little bit more about me.
My Education
I, myself, attended Atlanta High School. After graduating I went to Auburn University where I received my degree in English and Secondary Education.
My Interests/Hobbies
I'm a self-proclaimed foodie. I love to watch cooking shows, try new recipes, or experience new restaurants. When I'm not reading a good book I love to do yoga to have some relaxing time. I love music and theatre and you will definitely see all sorts of creativity and art incorporated into our class
Fun Facts
I got a chance to sing at the White House when I was in high school. I have been to 34 different countries. I was once a student in the classroom that I teach in now.
Why I became a Teacher
I believe a part of me has always known that I was going to be a teacher. As I went through my academic career I looked back on the values the ideas that had been instilled in me as a kid by my elementary school teacher, and once I realized the impact that one person had had on me, everything clicked. I believe in our future and I also believe that children are our future. I became a teacher in hopes of affecting students the way I was affected when I was young. Providing them with more then just knowledge but a basis and a respect for learning and growth and curiosity that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives. I hope to do so and I can't wait to work with each and every one of you!
My Teaching Philosophy
My beliefs on teaching are short and simple- Everyone Can. I believe that if someone is willing to do something or learn or grow then everyone can accomplish, everyone can succeed, everyone can grow. It is my philosophy that what students are exposed to and develop when they're younger can have an enormous impact on the rest of their lives and it is my mission to instill in my students the belief that they too can do anything they set their mind to, and with my help I hope to guide them along that path.
